Americans seem to love to watch celebrities rise to heavenly heights before being slammed back down to Earth in the wake of scandals and personal transgressions. While this may be an unfortunate reality that borders on voyeurism, the plain truth is that many of the citizens of America suffer from the same afflictions that cause their favorite or least favorite celebrities to reach their breaking points.
The fall from grace that Mel Gibson experienced in the past five years was likely a result of his bipolar disorder, and millions of Americans are currently living with the disease. The primary difference between Gibson and the typical citizen is that his breakdowns end up on national television.
Scores of other celebs have been faced with conditions such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, clinical depression, or even overt cases of narcissism, which was believed to be at the root of the recent events involving Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan.
I never knew that about Owen Wilson poor dude depression sucks!
