Your Chances of Dying

The average person in America lives for about 78 years. However, many people will die before they reach their 78th birthday. The Center for Disease Control has revealed that heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer are among leading causes of death. There are also a number of other things that can send a person to an early grave.

American football is a sport that many people enjoy watching, but some do not realize how dangerous it is to play this sport. A person has about a 1 in 50,000 chance of dying from a football-related injury. Swimming is a great exercise that can help improve overall health. People who swim have about a 1 in 1 million chance of dying from this activity. Most swimming-related deaths can be attributed to drowning.

Base Jumping has been named the most dangerous recreational activity. A person has about a 1 in 60 chance of dying while performing this activity.
