5 Interesting Places That You Should Not Miss in Seychelles

The Seychelles lies in the Indian Ocean, it consists of 115 Islands, but however, only a few of them are habitable. It is just off the east African Coast and north east of Madagascar. The favorite pastimes are beachcombing, bird watching, diving, fishing, and deep sea fishing. The islands are so beautiful that you are simply going to love them.

Mahe the Land of the Rare Plants

One of the important places that you should see is the Morme Seychellois National Park. It lies on the Morme Seychellos Mountain and is ideally suited for hiking and trekking. The Mahe Beach is sure going to captivate you. The pure clear waters are a pleasure to swim in. It is just 3 miles from Victoria. The world’s rarest plant the “Coco de Mer” is found in the botanical gardens. This plant is said to have the largest seed.

Praslin - A heaven for divers

Praslin has preserved its palm forests and this natural forest is now a natural park, and moreover, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is where you can find the Coco de Mer Palm. You have the Anse Lazio Beach; here you can enjoy the water life. This is home to the black lipped oysters that produce the rare black pearl. This is now being cultivated there. You will also find the Gaint Clam here. If you want to dive, then all you have to do is visit the Sisters rocks, which is south of the Marianne and White Bank.

Le Digue - The island connector

Le Digue is the island that connects you to a few islands like the Felicite, Grande Seour, and Ile Cocos. The island is surrounded by bottle green waters and some very beautiful beaches. The island is so primitive that the only means of transport is the ox cart. It is a hustle free island. You will find accommodation among the families here. If a serene vacation is what you covet, then this is one of the places of interest that you should not miss.

Aldabra - a Diver’s Paradise

Aldabra is a world heritage site and the world’s second largest coral atoll lying in the Indian Ocean. The diving here is very thrilling and the diving safaris are exhilarating. The divers will take a yacht trip to Aldabra, diving in the Amirantes and then moving onto the Alphonse group of islands and the pinnacle at the Aldabra. If diving adventure is your forte, then you could dive in the Lagoon mouth, the current with the tide is a steady 20 knots. You will find a lot of the sea creatures passing you in the opposite direction. The island is quite big; it will take you a week to travel by yacht starting from the Mahe Island. However, the time will be well used in exploring the Amirantes group of islands and the Farquar group.

Silhouette - Swimmer’s Paradise

The silhouette island is the third largest island in the Seychelles Islands. This Island is covered by a rain forest and is full of natural treasures like orchids. However the island is a swimmers paradise. You will not feel like getting out of the waters.
