BOOK REVIEW: The Realmsic Conquest by A. Demethius Jackson

The Realmsic Conquest:  The Candle of Crest is Fantasy Adventure.

The realms need a hero to challenge a quest
To help heal King Maebus they need the Candle of Crest
They search through the desert, They search through the plain
As the sun shines dimmer and dimmer each day.

Along with the challenge some fighting ensues
As the Army of Man quickly pursues.
Sometimes an enemy can be a friend too
As each ride the storms to allow harmony through.

Leoden, Normandy, Seku ride into fright
Take up the challenge to allow sunlight
Each gather armies to face their quests
Some of them live and some will meet death.

Along the way another problem needs action
When evil Damian survives his ancient infraction
He cares not for sunlight, chaos his reign
He'll bring death and destruction and cause everyone pain

The heroes must survive without any care
If they live or they die, King Maebus must be spared
Damian wishes to merge darkness with light
Thinking hes God he spares none of his might.

A thought they all share as the magic begins
The realmsic is theirs so that Damian can't win
Damian tries, as hard as he can
Will his magic be enough to wipe out the land?

I thought this was quite a remarkable way to share a story.  The rhyming prose wasn't something I am conditioned to read and at first I wasn't sure what to expect but I found myself easily reading along with the story.  You are drawn into the story and the plot that unveils itself as you continue along the journey.

I did enjoy the story but I seriously wanted to know more about the back story of most of the characters, like what happened to Saraya to make her wish to smite all the land?  Where did Damian come from?  How did any of the characters get to where they are?  So many questions are left unanswered that anyone who enjoys back story would find this a bit frustrating.

It was well-written with few editorial issues and I found myself re-writing some of the rhymes as I read along.  There was no expletives and the battles scenes are almost non-descriptive but the story still makes for a great read.

I would give The Realmsic Conquest a four out of five stars for the rhyming prose and being able to carry a plot without any major details.  Seriously though this would make for a GREAT series with more depth of plot and character.

SYNOPSIS:
Throughout its history, the kingdom known as the Realm has never known peace. From its establishment, it has possessed the gift of magic, which is a treasure that exists no other place in the world! As a result, the Realm has endlessly defended itself against conquerors, but now faces its greatest peril. As our heroes battle the wicked and unlock mysteries, they must also face overwhelming circumstances as they are guided by ancient lore on a quest to find the greatest treasure their kingdom will ever know... peace.
