PRODUCT REVIEW: pHisoderm pH UP for Oily Skin

pHisoderm has a full line of skin care products that are all about pH balance.  Every pHisoderm cleanser, toner and moisturizer is formulate to meet your skin's unique needs.  Use the pHisoderm line in a step~by~step routine or individually as needed.  The products benefit any skin type, dry, oily, normal or combination skin ~ by returning your complexion to its ideal pH balance.

pHisoderm has been around for over 40 years giving this brand a trusted heritage.  From its beginnings as a line of cleansers, pHisoderm has evolved into a full line of skin care products that offer quality and high end ingredients at an affordable price.

pH UP is a unique formulation for those with oily skin.  Oily skin generally occurs when skin's pH levels are too low (also known as acidic).  pH UP helps to increase the skins natural pH levels by reducing oil and impurities.

The improved formula includes aloe, chamomile and Vitamin E and effectively removes oil and dirt without irritation.  This soft mild cleanser is gentle and leaves your skin feeling smooth.  Dermatologist tested.

pH (Potential of Hydrogen) is a measurement of the degree of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution as measured on a scale of 0 to 14.  The midpoint, of course, being 7 and it represents a neutral solution that is neither acid nor alkaline.  Numbers below 7 indicate acidity; numbers that are greater indicate alkalinity.

Typically healthy skin has a acidic pH balance of 5.5.

Dry skin includes inflamed or blemished skin while oily skin has irritation and redness and those who typically suffer from Eczema and Rosacea have extremely low acidic levels.  The food we eat plays a large factor in our skins pH balance.  Consuming foods such as apples, citrus fruits, blackberries and tomatoes can naturally assist in the balancing of our skins pH.

Imbalances can occur with a poor diet, stress, lifestyle, smoking and not drinking enough water.  As well, many soaps tend to be more alkaline therefore affecting your skins natural balance.

It is a good idea to always double check the ingredients in your makeup.  Many of the cosmetic products offered today are oil based and use filters that can harm your skin.  Stay away from products that contain lanolin oil and petroleum.  These products not only clog pores but they will also stop skin from producing natural oils needed to protect and maintain healthy skin.

By making a few simple adjustments to your lifestyle, you can encourage good pH balance in your skin, as well as help to maintain the acid mantle, which protects against harmful bacterial and fungus.

pHisoderm's pH UP is a winner in my son's eyes, he uses this faithfully, along with the OXY Triple Action Mediated Acne Pads and swears by both of them.  He feels that by washing his face in pH UP his acne is actually leveling off and he is beginning to see a huge difference in his skin and appearance.

There is no real scent, kind of a clinical smell to it, but it doesn't linger on your skin.  The lotion is thick and creamy and washes onto your face without any fuss.  After wetting your skin, you gently massage this over your problem areas and rinse thoroughly.  It's as simple as that.  You can immediately feel it working on your skin as it targets the areas that need to be corrected and balanced with pH UP's formula.

I would recommend it on behalf of my son, who has used many a product over the past few years and has decided that these products do work for his skin type.
