The new CG~animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is set to premiere in October and Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products have secured over 30 UK licensees as well as, launching a new website for the upcoming show.
In what is being considered the largest number of licensing deals for any Nickelodeon property in the UK before a series has even debuted, Nick has acquired many companies to help promote the new TMNT series.
Action figures are set to be shipped for December by Flair on behalf of Playmate Toys, bedroom and outdoor play ranges from Worlds Apart, wheeled goods and arts & crafts from Sambro, outerwear from TV Mania, nightwear by Cooneen Misirli, accessories and gifts being marketed by VMC, William Lamb and Zeon, food licensing by Lightbody and Copywrite Designs, Hallmark, moonpig.com and Amscan will be distributing the stationery and back to school merchandise. Also included as part of the deal are Charcter World and Vogue who have signed on for homewares, Egmont for annuals books and Parragon for publishing, making this an extra~ordinary promotional launch.
To further promote TMNT brands, Nick will also be launching "an immersive website", turtles.nick.co.uk and will be shared across 13 regions and 10 languages. The new site will feature sneak previews of the series, games, quizzes and more and is set to launch on July 19th~!!
Sales will begin in the United States and will eventually trickle out to International sales by Fall.

My son just adored his Amazing Spider~Man Web Battler as did many of his friends who are in awe of how wonderful the action figure character is.
The colours and definition are quite remarkable on such a toy and my son loves how nicely he fits in his hand. My son has beefy hands and some of the smaller action figures discourage him, however, this Web Blaster was the exact size and fit he needed in order to play with his imagination properly.
He found it very easy to squeeze the legs together and after giving it a try I realized that it truly doesn't take much effort to squeeze the legs in order to activate the spin web feature that is attached to Spider~Man's hand. This would be a very good toy for younger folks who are just beginning their coordination skills as it not only gives them a sense of accomplishment but it strengthens their hand muscles at the same time.
If you have a Spider~Man fan in your family, then this is one action figure that is sure to be a HUGE hit~!!

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. Cartoon Universe, featuring popular Looney Tunes and Scooby~Doo characters has been launched by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Developed by WB Games Montreal, this new gaming site will have kids solving puzzles, playing adventure games, customize your own characters, collect rewards while exploring two different worlds. One world will be based on The Looney Tunes Show and the other will be Scooby~Doo Island. Currently due to hit international markets in 2013, players in North America, are encouraged to sign up on the website and play games while the site is still in its test mode.

1. Set in 1910 when Jemima and Jeremy Potts go to live with their uncle Caractacus Potts, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang follows them on an adventure when they meet the Child Catcher. With his long black coat, thin pointy nose, tall top hat and his net, he scared many children and in 2005 was voted “the scariest villain” in children's books despite only appearing in the film version.

2. ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ was broadcast between 1992 and 2000 and referred to a group of teenagers who called themselves “The Midnight Society”. They would meet in abandoned houses or dark woods and tell tales of ghosts, vampires, witches and magic.
Although most shows would end with a happy ending to the story, a few episodes like “The Tale of Vampire Town” ended with the main character being attacked by a vampire. Scary stuff!

3. Although enjoyed by many adults, the Harry Potter series was originally written for children and young adults. Firstly it starts off with the main character living under the stairs in his uncle's house after his parents have been killed. He then meets evil Lord Voldemort, who has no nose, before being attacked by Dementors, ghostly flying creatures. Definitely one for kids to watch from behind a cushion!
4. The early Walt Disney film, ‘Dumbo’ is upsetting on so many levels. Firstly Dumbo is teased by the other elephants for having big ears. Then his mother is locked up after sticking up for her son. Next the little elephant causes a trick to go wrong after which he is forced to perform an act where he is laughed at for falling in pie filling. Although he later strikes back at his tormentors and is reunited with his mother, you will still need to get the tissues ready.

5. Originally shown in 1963, Doctor Who is now the world's longest running science fiction television show. The “Doctor” who is actually a time travelling humanoid alien, helps save civilisations while travelling in his Tardis. Two particularly scary adversaries are the Daleks who scared many with their robotic “exterminate” calls and the Cybermen who insert artificial parts into their body and become devoid of emotions except rage and aggression.

6. What can be scarier than telling children that normal people wandering the streets could be witches? Well in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl book ‘The Witches’ that’s exactly what happens. The scariest of them all is the Grand High Witch, is played by Angelica Houston, who instructs all other witches to exterminate all the children of the world. How scary is that?

7. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of the Pevensie siblings who venture through the back of the wardrobe and into the land of Narnia. Here they meet Mr Tumnus, a bare-chested faun (slightly bizarre), Aslan, a talking lion who is tortured by the white witch (very sad) and the white witch who has made Narnia always winter but never Christmas and turns people to stone (scary).

8. Voted third in the animation section of top ten best films, Bambi tells the story of a dear who makes friends with a rabbit and a skunk. One day his mother takes him into the meadow to graze when she tells Bambi to flee as the hunter is coming. Bambi runs and it is not until he meets his father he finds of that his mother didn't make it, implying that the hunter shot her. A tearjerker on so many levels!

9. From the start, Charlotte's Web has us going. From a litter of piglets, the later named Wilbur is singled out as a runt and sent for slaughter. Saved by the farmer’s daughter, Wilbur is sold to her uncle but she visits him less and less and then he discovers he is going to be killed and eaten at Christmas. A friendly spider called Charlotte saves the pig and Wilbur goes on to win a prize at the county fair but sadly Charlotte dies. How much more can one pig take?

10. Grotbags was the evil nemesis to the virtuous Rod Hull and Emu. Dressed as a traditional witch with a black cape and pointy hat, she also carried a “bazazzer” which was pointed at the offending person. In every episode she threatened to steal Emu and terrorised the children however Rod and his helpers always prevailed. At least there was a happy ending.

Late seventeenth century French writer, Charles Perrault wrote the story Master Cat a/k/a The Booted Cat which in turn became popularly called Puss in Boots.
It is the story of a deceitful cat that creates diversions and deception to advance his impoverished master's life into a world of prosperity as well as marriage to the land's princess. It is a celebrated tale that has been re-told in many different languages throughout many different cultures. It has not only been entertaining to children worldwide but inspired a slew of artists including composers, musicians, painters and choreographers throughout its existence.
Recently, the story was released as a 3D computer animated film version by the company DreamWorks as a prequel to the highly successful Shrek 2 which was released in 2004. It stars the voices of Billy Bob Thornton, Salma Hayek, Amy Sedaris, Zach Galifianakis and Antonio Banderas as the cat. It is directed by Chris Miller director of Shrek 3.
A Good Crack at a New Theme
Puss in Boots offers a refreshing diversion from the Shrek franchise that comes in at a total of four movies. This prequel is in 3D that is well executed and raises the bar on some other not so technologically advanced animated 3D genres as of late. It uses the age old story of Puss in Boots as a template for a remade plot that incorporates the stories of Jack and Jill, Jack in the Beanstalk, Humpty Dumpty and The Golden Goose.
The story is fast moving, humorous and clever with enough action to keep tiny eyes widened and adults pleasantly delighted. It steers away from over-the-top inside joke ridiculousness that seems to be a running theme for the past several years and especially accommodates the large constituency of Spanish speaking families due to Mr. Banderas' charming, Mediterranean wit. It takes place in what seems like a cross between districts of Spain and Mexico with sprawling, picturesque imagery that is not only visually impressive but full of color and detail. The characters are repulsively likeable as well as heroically intriguing allowing the audience to cheer for the struggle toward good vs. evil with an all-in-good-fun attitude.
The story involves Puss overwhelming and stopping the evil outlaws, Jack and Jill by taking magic beans in which they stole. He uses the seeds to grow the beanstalk and obtain the Golden Goose. This takes them to yet another impressive backdrop of a vibrant, paradise only to come face to face with The Terror which guards the Golden Goose. After much finagling they take the goose but the Terror (really the Goose's mother) follows them to the town. Puss and his girl friend Kitty Softpaws fight off The Terror and save the town. Sequel scenarios run through the last minutes of the film indicating what is on the horizon as a potential, blockbusting, spinoff, franchise.
Overall, Puss in Boots is an enchanting tale with a modern twist. The soundtrack and choreography add to the story with plenty of laughs to go around.

If you check out a cartoon channel on your television, it would be the best example of this animation technology of creative evolution. Though cartoon characters and comic depictions have been the common use of this technique other forms of films and documentary presentations are also possible with this medium. It stands for a sequential display of 2D and 3D images; in some of the displays there is a use of greater rapidity of the sequences. This is created with the effects of an optical illusion of motion; this is possible with the principles of the persistence of vision. You can make use of these and create sequences in different story formats usually like a movie or a video. These are the usual and common exhibition of this form of art.
Animation cannot be entirely credited to modern technology and thinking. It has undoubtedly been facilitated by the use of software applications that has made this area of creativity easier and interesting. However there are examples of creative sequences of carving in caves and other archeological sites of various ancient civilizations. It is a fantastic display of creativity mixed with mathematical calculation which is depicted with each change of movement shown in successive carvings; these are continued to form an entire movement of an individual or even a story in quick succession. These are found across ancient civilizations in Egypt and several examples of art in Paleolithic caves.
Earlier in the 20th century animation there was a distinct and unique process carried out to generate imagery and its movements. In this there was the use of hand-drawn images of an entire sequence in separate postures of their movement. Each picture was different from the previous one and displayed the change of situation or posture to signify a movement from the previous image as well as the next one. These images are then filled with colors and shades of hues that depict their onscreen colors. Tones of different colors that are used here is very important in animation as it helps to create the 3D effect. There are transparent acetate sheets on which these drawings are retraced or even photocopied. These are referred to as cels. These are photographed in a given sequence on a film reel used for motion pictures. The colored background that’s commonly seen in case of such videos and films is incorporated with the help of a rostrum camera.
Modern animation is a different process even though the basics remain the same. The complicated process of the hand-drawn images is now created with greater options for modification with the use of software applications. Artists and visualizers have a greater creative freedom of maneuvering their computer mouse to give colors and shades and then change as many times with ease. Creating the image on your computer makes it easier for you to store these and even use them in films.
There is the option of innovative software products ranging from 2D and 3D displays which makes the task of giving your images their motion easier.
