Aside from the fact that kids today own personal computers and never leave home without their cell phones, kids have not really changed dramatically in a generation. Kids loved to listen to music then, and they love to listen to music now. The artists they listen to express the same sentiments that deal with love and heartbreak.

Nostalgia does indicate, though, that teenagers have changed in subtle, or sometimes not so subtle, ways. Television producers cater to a more mature teenage audience today, rather than allowing teens to enjoy their youth. Today's kids watch shows that deal with topics they should not need to ponder until they are adults.

Some kids are better off today, and some kids may have personalities that do not fit in with today's generation. Teenagers of every generation have the same hopes and dreams for their futures. Most kids today want to get married, have their own kids and own their own homes. These values are in complete harmony with those of a previous generation.

All Girl Scout Cookies are created at two very busy bakeries. Sales of Girl Scout Cookies by three million girls totals 198 million boxes for $714 million of revenue per year. The least popular cookie types are retired in place of new types.

The most boxes of cookies sold in a year was 17,328 by Jennifer Sharpe, aged 15, of Dearborn, Michigan. Her sales totaled about $10,000 and helped her troop go on a trip abroad.

About 3/4 of all women in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives were once Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scout Organization earns only $37 million from membership fees, so cookie sales are an important source of revenue each year.

The time it would take to fly across the observable universe is unfathomable to us. How would you say 111,408,058,600,640,000? That's how many years it would take.

Clusters of stars and groups of galaxies exist in space. When displayed, how insignificant Earth seems in the scheme of things. Our planet is 12.7 million meters in diameter. Compare that to Jupiter, which is 142.9 million meters in diameter. Our sun is a whopping 1.4 billion meters in diameter.

On earth, other comparisons capture the awesomeness of our planet. A Kodiak bear is 3 meters tall, whereas a whale is 30 meters long. In geography, it's amazing that Rhode Island can fit inside of Texas 634 times! Side by side, a skin cell would dwarf hemoglobin. When we magnify the hidden wonders of our universe, amazing things can happen.
