Inventors: The People Behind the Way We Live

Humans throughout history have been creative thinkers, always coming up with new ideas and inventions to make our day to day lives easier to deal with. Technology has exploded within the past hundred years, giving us commercial flight, cell phones, the internet, and portable personal music players that evolved from the Walkman to the iPod. Thinking that the last hundred years was the only time in history when life became easier, however, is a flawed idea.

Many young people in this day and age believe that personal computers, cell phones, and music players are just a normal part of life. These things didn’t just pop up out of nowhere though. Many of our modern conveniences have been in the works for centuries, leading up to what they are now. Understanding what our modern conveniences evolved from will help us to understand the long journey it took to get here.
