#HASBRO ~ The Amazing Spider~Man Hero Mask

ARV ~ $9.99

The Amazing Spider~Man Hero Mask

Feel just like your web~slinging hero with this awesome SPIDER~MAN Hero Mask~!!

It conceals your true identity as you imagine web~crawling adventures and battles against the forces of darkness.

Evil doesn't stand a chance when you're in your Hero Mask~!!

Mask adjusts to fit most head sizes for ages 5 through adult.

Odin McBam~Bam using his Spidey senses~!!

Playing with my inner child...lol

Li'l Miss Peaches'n'Cream knows how to battle evil~!!

Ms. Alarm flashing her Spidey Moves~!!

Ms. Not~Quite~Right showing her Spidey hand actions...

As you can see...the kids and I had a blast wearing the Spider~Man Hero Mask and tearing up the neighborhood with our antics~!!

The only drawback to the mask is keeping your hair from falling into the eye sections of the mask.  As you can see, we all have long hair and all but Ms. Alarm (who was fortunate to have had her hair in a ponytail) had the hair in their eyes.  So for safety reasons, if your child's hair is long, keep it tied back while they are playing, especially if its unsupervised.

Really and truly, I can see these being a GREAT mask to have for Hallowe'en...your child is able to see out of the eye holes perfectly, giving them a nice, wide area in which to view out of.  The mask sits very comfortably on your head, though the bridge inside the mask may hinder some younger folks as it can feel a bit claustrophobic.  The velcro straps are secure and the mask does not slide around on your head when moving.

Hasbro's The Amazing Spider~Man Hero Mask would make the PERFECT accessory to your child's crime fighting needs...putting it on gives your imagination a chance to play and you can't help but busting out all your best Spidey moves~!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Cruella De Vil ~ WholeSaleCostumeClub.com ~ Affordable Costumes That Look Great~!!

ARV ~ $36.98
Cruella De Vil Adult Costume

This all~time classic character costume would indeed guarantee you a very exciting evening as you step out to frighten all the Dalmation puppies~!!

The Cruella De Vil costume comes complete with the three quarter black dress, two~in~one hair piece, long red gloves and white sash.

For one night of the year, you can bring out that sense of evil and let it thrive through this incredibly accurate looking costume.  Inner evil and inner sex appeal would make this a very groovy costume to wear as you rock it as Cruella De Vil from the Disney hit movie, "101 Dalmations."

Add enhancements to spruce things up by adding stockings, high heels and the makeup for that one kind of a scary face in which she supports.  You are sure to have a grand and fun~filled time with this very attention~grabbing costume.

If this sounds like something you could dig your teeth into, then the Cruella De Vil adult costume from WholeSale Costume Club is the pick for you this year~!!

I had my oldest daughter try this on and showcase her Cruella nastiness...lol  I must say she handled the part quite well as she rocked her dramatic evil~ish self while strutting her stuff in true Cruella De Vil style~!!

One of my daughter's favourite movies from when she was a wee lassie was Disney's "101 Dalmations"~!!  She wore several copies of the movie out over the years, dreamt as a child of owning her own dalmation puppy and has been fascinated with it ever since.  Now, when she heard I had the opportunity to review for WholeSale Costume Club again, she begged me to choose the Cruella costume as she had been looking for YEARS and was unable to successfully find one...so out of my motherly love, I complied...even though I REALLY liked the Ladies Pirate Costumes...lol

I must say though, she did me proud in the wearing...

I truly thought this costume was everything it claimed to be and more...she did truly look wonderful and these pics do the overall effect no justice~!!  We had no complaints but one, she felt the dress was a tad see through and to remember to dress accordingly...lol  We both agree, however, that at Hallowe'en and your clubbing it, then it's all gooood~!!  ;)

Adding some fish net stockings and stiletto's would really pump this costume up and maybe a dalmation puppy or two...haha

I have had the delight and the enjoyment of reviewing for this company on a few occasions and I have, AS OF YET, been disappointed with anything I have ever reviewed for them.  The customer service is EXCELLENT, they are courteous and knowledgeable in all that they are able to help you with.  I would recommend them for any time you need a costume to spruce up an event~!!

Disney's irresistible talking Buddies are back in an all-new movie that takes them for a spooky new adventure. With the help of some unexpected new friends -- Pip, Zelda, Rodney, and Skip, the buddies must stop Warwick the Warlock and save the world from his dastardly deeds.

In order to release the magic in the mirror, Warwick (Harland Williams) must gather the souls of five puppies in order for the Hell Hound (Deidrich Bader) to do his bidding.  Warwick's first attempt fails and Pip, (Voice of Frankie Jonas) becomes a ghost and haunts the house he has been trapped within.  Also left behind is Warwick's familiar, an Owl named Hoot (voice of Ryan Stiles), who patiently waits for the arrival of five more puppies and awaken Warwick.

After Bartleby (Tucker Albrizzi) goes on a ghost tour on a class trip, the five puppy Buddies, Budderball (Nico Ghisi), Billy/B-Dawg (both voiced by Skylar Gisondo), Rosebud (G. Hannelius) and Mudbud (Ty Panitz), find themselves releasing the Hell Hound and befriending Pip.

When Warwick arises, Hoot explains the situation and together they work with the Hell Hound to trap the puppies so that the trapped demon souls can be released  and chaos and havoc can rule the world.  The puppies along with Pip work to keep Warwick away from their souls and through high daring adventures and scary mysteries, the puppies feel they are up for the task.

Returning also to his role as Deputy Sniffer is the fantastic comedian, Tim Conway.  Also included is a great rendition of the Monster Mash performed by Stuart Malinowski.

My Thoughts~!!

I thought this was a great movie and my children loved watching it, however, I must admit, if your children fear easily, then you may wish to stay away from this one.  The Hell Hound can be very scary at times and there are many ghosts and demons throughout the story.  My children are not sensitive to such and they have been recommending to everyone.

I thought the dogs were delightful, as always.  Their costumes were just too cute and I can understand why they had to sit through most of their scenes in this movie versus their others.  It could get mighty stressful having to keep the costumes on the dogs if they had to do more aerobatic moves.

I thought the character of Warwick was a little overacted and it would be my only bad report to say about the movie.  I loved his minion, Hoot and how he interacted with his master.  I also thought Deidrich Bader did a great voice over, one could hardly place his voice as you were listening!

All of us jumped up and danced to the Monster Mash, my little guy has such a silly air guitar dance that he does.  It was too cute.  It was agreed that this was one of the favourite parts of the movie.

I enjoyed this movie and would suggest you keep it in mind for your upcoming Hallowe'en holidays...or just to have around, even though it is Hallowe'en, the story has a Christian back story feel to it that will be sure to delight.

Cinema Of Shadows by Michael West

Cinema Of Shadows is a Horror Thriller.

When Kimberly Saunders was born, her mother thought there was something wrong with her, she was positive that Kim could speak with ghosts.  As Kim grows she has an event which occurs on a covered bridge that leaves her dreams filled with nightmares.

Present day, Kim is attending college and she and her roommate Tashima Ismail are attending a Parapsychology course.  They, along with their classmates Kevin and Joss, are preparing a haunting for their class credit.  They are at a house of a family who was murdered by the father, a little girl's spirit is trapped in the house and when they begin their experiment, they don't expect much.  However, Kim can hear the spirits talking and before they can look at their footage, one of them hurts Kevin and the group rush off to the ER.

Professor Geoffrey Burke is fascinated by the group's results and has a bigger quest for them to tackle.  Professor Burke wants the group of sensitives to explore the Woodfield Movie Palace that has a history of paranormal activity.  The history behind the movie house is fraught with death and murder and it is believed by everyone, that the souls of those are trapped within the walls.

Professor Burke was attacked as a child by a "demon" and he has spent his whole life proving that an afterlife does exist while on the hunt for the one who scarred him.  Kim is afraid of what she will find behind the doors of the theatre, but comes to the realization that maybe she can help the trapped souls escape from their earthly hell.  Along the way, Kim meets Dr. Tyler Bachman and the two begin to fall in love but Tyler isn't sure if Kim is mentally stable and every fibre in his body tells him to run before its too late.

As the group comes together at the theatre, they must have their wits about them in order to survive the evil the permeates the theatre.  Will Kim have the strength to free the souls or will the demon's feed of her life energy for the rest of eternity?

I thought this was a great book.  I loved the creepy aspect that the story builds up to.  I loved how the people interacted with each other and the ghostly back stories that each person shared was enjoyable to read.  The characters each had their own persona's and one has no problem telling each of them apart as you read.

I read this alone and late at night, giving the read some extra nuances and I loved how the book made me feel.  I was slightly scared as I continued to read, I have an over-active imagination and this book fed it nicely.  I would love to see this in a movie, it would be a well worth the watch; I would love to see the special effects via the paranormal activity.

I would give Cinema Of Shadows a four stars out of five.  I truly loved the read, but there were a few tidbits that weren't explained enough for me, like how the theatre became evil in the first place and how the "demon" is able to leave the theatre or what Robby's "other" story was that made him want to exorcise the demons from the place.  None of these were properly explained and while none of these things hinder from the story, it still makes a reader wonder and I dislike when I have questions left unanswered from my reads.

If you love a good horror story then this will surely feed your need for the creep.  This book is not for the faint of heart, it has moderate to heavy expletives and many aspects are graphic in nature.  The artwork on the cover is commendable and truly works for the book.

SYNOPSIS:
Welcome to the Woodfield Movie Palace. The night the Titanic sank, it opened for business...and its builder died in his chair. In the 1950s, there was a fire; a balcony full of people burned to death. And years later, when it became the scene of one of Harmony, Indiana's most notorious murders, it closed for good. Abandoned, sealed, locked up tight...until now. Tonight, Professor Geoffrey Burke and his Parapsychology students have come to the Woodfield in search of evidence, hoping to find irrefutable proof of a haunting. Instead, they will discover that, in this theater, the terrors are not confined to the screen.

Keep Kids Safe during Halloween

Research shows that double the number of children are injured or killed by Halloween-related accidents that could have been prevented had safety measures been followed. These incidents include getting hit by cars because drivers could not see children's costumes or children were not mindful of the traffic, getting injured by a sword, or burned by a candle of a jack-o-lantern. If parents and children follow a few safety tips they can enjoy a fun Halloween without any tragedies.

Costumes
Choose costumes that fit well so children will not trip over them at night and that are flame-resistant. Help children select ones that light-colored if possible so they will be more visible at night. Decorate costumes with reflective stickers to improve visibility even more. Since Halloween masks limit children's eyesight, decorate their faces with non-toxic face paint or make-up, remembering to test the make-up on the children first to check for allergic reactions. Even if your child's costume calls for it, prevent him from carrying a sword as he might accidentally hit another child. Provide children with flashlights so they can see better that night.

Carving Jack-o-Lanterns
Provide markers for children to draw funny faces on the pumpkins so that one of the parents can carve it out. Alternatively, let the children paint faces on the pumpkins with colored non-toxic paint. Keeping sure children are away from the knife, carve out their design. To prevent accidents, consider lighting your creation with a small glow stick instead. Display your scary pumpkin on a sturdy base, where it will not catch fire or tip over.

Trick- or-Treat Night
Accompany children younger than 12 years old trick-or-treating. Encourage older children to go out in groups and review the planned route with one of the parents and establish a meeting spot. Stay in your local neighborhood, only ringing the doorbell of houses with their porch light on. Tell children never to go into a neighbor's house, even if they know them. Walk along lighted sidewalks and only cross at official crosswalks. This helps drivers see children at crosswalks and they will be expecting larger amounts of children walking than normal so they be on high-alert.

Healthy Tips
Provide a healthy dinner for your children before they head out so they have some nourishment in them and will not just gorge on sweets. After returning home from trick-or-treating, divide treats into different piles such as chocolate candy, chips, and sour candy, while checking each wrapper. If you suspect it has been tampered with, throw it out.

How To Make Halloween A Success Without Haunting Your Bank Account

How To Make Halloween A Success Without Haunting Your Bank Account

Halloween is a big holiday. It can also be an expensive holiday when you add up all the costumes, parties, and trick or treating. You don’t have to go Trick or Treating to make Halloween a success. There are so many hauntingly brilliant ideas for a stay at home Halloween party. Maybe your children are a little old for trick or treating, or perhaps your neighbourhood isn’t suited to door-to-door Halloween fun. You can turn your home into a haunted house that’ll have your kids enthralled and even a little spooked if you like.

Present these ideas to your little ghouls and get the party started:
  1. Pumpkin Carving: Yes, you can buy ready carved pumpkins, but it’s so much more fun to carve your own. Little ones may need a helping hand, but you can make your Jack-o-Lanterns original, and spooky. Never let your child handle a knife, you can buy inexpensive pumpkin carving sets for children and guide them through the process.
  2. Your own Haunted House: Children love the idea of turning your home into a haunted house. You can assign each child a room to decorate and get their friends to help too. You need to make a show of it, so get your little Morticia’s and Dracula’s to plan their roles and act the part in their room. You can make smoking cauldrons with dry ice and a slow cooker, or turn your spare room into Count Dracula’s castle. All you need is a little creativity and a lot of kids.
  3. Host a Scary Story Party: Ghost stories around the campfire. Nothing is better than being outdoors around a fire on Halloween. If you have the space, create a small campfire and decorate the garden with cheap Halloween decorations. Plan an outdoor meal and ask each child to prepare a ghost story that’ll freeze your blood and turn your bones to jelly. Younger children love to get involved but their scary stories may not haunt older children. Try to keep it age appropriate and save your terrifying ghost stories for last. If you’re indoors, then make the room completely dark and allow each storyteller to hold a single torch in front of their face as they tell their story. It’s guaranteed to raise some screams.
  4. Trick or Treat Treasure Hunt: Instead of hitting the neighbourhood this year, why not organise a terrifying treasure hunt. Perfect for the garden at night, especially if you have some creepy decor and some things that really do go bump in the night.
  5. Movie Mayhem: Older children and teens love the thrill of watching scary movies on Halloween. Make a party of it and have some Halloween themed food, and rent some of the classic tales of fright, horror and gore on Halloween. If they want to do something more interactive, or if you’re having an all-girls sleep over then purchase a bunch of inexpensive Halloween make up sets and allow them to create their own gory masks and weird witches with a Halloween Beauty/Beast Party
Staying in doesn’t mean missing out on Halloween when you invite all the young witches and wizards in your neighbourhood over to your haunted house for a festive fright night.

Halloween Icons in Film

Halloween Icons in Film

Halloween is just around the corner, so why not start planning the most chilling, spine-tingling and utterly grotesque costume you can imagine? A number of celebrities have starred in some of the most haunting movies of all time, so if you are looking for inspiration check out the blood-sucking, night-prowling characters they played.

1. Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen

Edward Cullen Image Credit

Transform yourself into a terrifying vampire, just like Robert Pattinson in the supernatural romance fantasy film Twilight. The sinister, pale look seemed to work for Edward Cullen who sent ladies everywhere into somewhat of a frenzy, so if you are hoping to find love, this may be the answer.

2. Johnny Depp as Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands Image Credit

Shock everyone this Halloween by emerging as Edward Scissorhands, a character brought to life by Johnny Depp in the incredibly popular 1990 movie. Dye your hair black, paint your face white and go for an "I just got dragged through a bush backwards" hairstyle. You can buy specially made Edward Scissorhands gloves online, so get creative and look the part.

3. Heath Ledger as the Joker

The Joker Image Source

Why not honour the work of the late Heath Ledger by turning yourself into the evil Joker from The Dark Knight. Get hold of some face paints to make your eyes black, your skin white and your lips red before slipping on a bright purple jacket. Curl you hair, perfect an evil laugh and carry around a joker card with you all night. Awesome.

4. Robert Englund as Frederick Charles Krueger

Freddie Krueger Image Credit

Terrify all who dare cross your path by dressing up as the disfigured dream stalker Frederick Charles Krueger made famous by Robert Englund. Buy yourself a Krueger mask online, don a red a green striped jumper and put on a brown fedora hat. Finish the look with a metal-clawed brown leather glove and you are good to trick-or-treat.

5. Tim Curry as Dr. Frank N. Furter

Dr. Frank N. Furter Image Credit

Halloween would not be the same without someone dressing up as pansexual mad scientist Dr Frank N. Furter from the Rocky Horror Show. Dress up in suspenders and beads before introducing yourself as "a sweet transvestite from Transsexual Transylvannia". Sound weird? It is - but that's all part of the fun and this role was once played by the legendary Tim Curry.

6. Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter

Hannibal Lecter Image Source

Get hold of a face mask and straight jacket and walk around as Hannibal Lecter for the night. A famous cannibal portrayed by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, this character will creep people out to the core. The famous quote "I'm giving very serious thought to eating your wife" is sure to get people riled and is the perfect line to use on a spooky Halloween night. Cringe.

7. Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange

Bellatrix Lestrange Image Source

If you are a massive Harry Potter fan, why not turn into the female Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange as played by the wonderful Helena Bonham Carter. Don a long, black dress, wear a curly black wig and make sure your eyes look black and sunken before acting paranoid and mentally unstable all evening.

8. Alan Rickman as Professor Snape

Severus Snape Image Source

Become one of Harry Potter's most dark and devious characters by turning yourself into Professor Snape. Dye your hair black, wear a long black cape and perfect that cold look in your eye so brilliantly performed by the legend that is Alan Rickman.

9. Jeff Goldblum as The Fly

The Fly Image Source

Turn into a creature that is neither human nor insect just like Jeff Goldblum did in the 1986 science horror film The Fly. Believe it or not, there are some brilliant fly costumes online and you can tell your friends of how you accidentally merged with a household fly during a teleportation experiment.

10. Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson

Mary, Winnie and Sarah, Hocus Pocus Image Source

If you have ever seen Hocus Pocus, you will know that it is one of the best Halloween movies of all time, so why not transform into Sarah Sanderson played by Sarah Jessica Parker? Buy a long blonde wig, don a gothic dress and black-up your eyes before walking around with a broomstick. If you have two other friends who want to join in the fun, they can become the other two witches Winnie (played by Bette Midler) and Mary (played by Kathy Najimy).

Scare all your friends and relatives this Halloween with a truly convincing costume.

This spooktacular guest post was produced on behalf of Show and Stay; official providers of fangtastically cheap theatre packages in London.

Why You Should Visit Isle of Wight this Halloween

Are you looking for something exciting and different to do this Halloween? Isle of Wight has been a destination that has called like a siren across the UK bringing royals, celebrities, holidaymakers, motorcyclists, and music enthusiasts for over a century to a place of natural splendour, creativity, refuge, and relaxation. The Isle is also known for some dark and spooky Halloween ghost walks, perhaps inspired by many gothic authors who have visited in the past.

Recently, Isle of Wight has also been the location of a great literary discovery: the lost notebook of Bram Stoker, author of Dracula.

In seemingly perfect timing for Halloween, Stoker’s great-grandson discovered the journal in ‘an attic’ on the Isle of Wight (the specific attic in question has not been named). The journalistic writings in this very private notebook are apparently very similar to the style of Jonathan Harker’s journal as written in the Dracula novel. This notebook offers exciting clues into the author’s method of research and study when writing the now infamous novel, along with great insight into Stoker’s dark gothic and sometimes ghoulish mind.

For enthusiasts of Bram Stoker’s work, the writings (in not messy handwriting thankfully decipherable by his relatives) paint a new and telling picture of Dublin life between 1871 and 1881 throughout its 150 or so pages and include scribbled down beginnings of some of his other works. Certain detailed excerpts went on to appear in Dracula as part of character Jonathan Harker’s journal observations. Apparently the journal was written when Stoker was attending Trinity College in Dublin and working at Dublin Castle. Gothic enthusiasts of all kinds are sure to be excited by the discovery of this notebook which provides greater insight into the writing process and the man himself. The notebook is due to be published and released next year.

Isle of Wight residents are quite excited about this discovery, and what better time to visit the island? While the exact residence in which the notebook was found has yet to be named, the island itself is still a great place for gothic enthusiasts to visit, especially this time of year when the nights are longer than the days and the cold misty mornings make for spooky inspiration. From the 22nd to the 30th of October Carisbrooke Castle Isle of Wight will also host a spooky ghost walk tour of the castle and grounds, one of the island’s most haunted places. So what are you waiting for? Grab a gothic book, and go for a wander.

The island’s finger on the past and the pulse of the present are inseparable making it a very exciting place to discover, even more so now that this exciting piece of literary history has surfaced.

Guest Post: K Newey is a copywriter and script writer who is often inspired by gothic literature and grand natural scenery. A stay in one of many gorgeous and unique Isle of Wight self catering cottages would make for the perfect Halloween getaway.

Be sure to check out the mystery ring compartment where you could find a rare emoticon or a black or blue swirled ring inside.  These rings are randomly placed in one out of every six packages.

The Series 1 designs are colour coordinated, you can check out each of the designs associated with the rings by clicking on each coloured ring found on the Hand Vibes site.

HAND VIBES~!!

My Thoughts~!!

The kids and I thought these were neat!!  My youngest daughter couldn't WAIT to try them on, they truly spoke to her fad craze nature~!!

She wore a set of them to school and ended up giving one away, she was hounded ALL day by the kids...and she LOVED every minute of it!!  She thought the best thing to do would be to share one with a friend and bring a smile to their face also!!

The rings are made of the same material that the fashion statement bracelets are made of.  I thought they were a little wide, but I don't wear any jewelry on my fingers as its uncomfortable for me, so this didn't surprize me!  The kids were able to wear them without any worries or inhibitions and they loved flashing them in each others faces!!

I believe these Hand Vibe rings would make GREAT stocking stuffers OR loot bag prizes... kids LOVE that kind of thing~!!

Now the groovy folks at Hand Vibes and we at the Moose Marsh would LOVE LOVE LOVE to give you an opportunity to win a set of these for your very own~!!

Sweet and neat...dontcha think??!!
