5 New Year's Eve Party Ideas

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner there are sure to be loads of parties and people celebrating. If you are one of the lucky people who get to host a New Year’s party this year then you’ve probably already started your planning. Just in case you are struggling with ideas for themes or activities, here are 5 ideas to make your New Year’s Eve party a night to remember:
  1. Pajama Party - When it comes to the holidays, pajamas are a definite fashion “do.” With the colder weather it’s only natural to want to snuggle up in your comfiest outfit and stay warm. By throwing a Pajama Party, you and all your guests will be able to enjoy the evening in their most snuggly of clothes. Pajama parties are a great idea for the host who’s looking to entertain in a super casual atmosphere.
  2. Glow in the Dark - You don’t have to be a kid to love things that glow in the dark! This year for New Year’s, why not fill your home with glow in the dark things and make a party out of it? Your guests can arrive with their own glowing outfits or you can supply glow in the dark bracelets/necklaces for them. You can even use black lights to help set the mood. If you’re having several people that don’t already know each other, then you can provide nametags and markers that will only show up with the black lights.
  3. Hollywood - Feeling a bit glamorous? Then, maybe it’s time you threw a Hollywood party and rolled out the red carpet. Let your guests know the theme plenty in advance so they have time to plan their “movie-star-ish” outfits. You can even have an actual red carpet at your front door and take pictures like you’re the paparazzi when they arrive.
  4. Gold Party - If you’re looking for a party that doesn’t cost you anything, then how about one that actually makes you some money? Gold parties are rapidly gaining popularity and are a great way to get your friends together in a fun environment and earn some extra cash. The idea is that your gold party is sponsored by a licensed metal buyer, who weighs everyone’s unwanted gold, silver, and platinum jewelry. The guests get cash for the things they don’t want anymore and the host gets 10% of the total money spent on gold. Plus some gold buyers will even send out invitations, supply cash prizes, and bring champagne; now that’s hands free planning!
  5. Vintage - Remember the good ole days with your very own vintage party. Choose one of your favorite time periods and go to town.  You can use things like old film reels for centerpieces and find some classic looking soda bottles to serve drinks with.

No matter what you end up deciding to do, just make sure that it’s something that you’ll have fun with. There’s nothing worse than preparing for a party that you aren’t excited for and that you won’t enjoy once it happens. So there you have it, 5 ideas to make your New Year’s Eve party a hit.

  1. I think that the gold party seems like a great way for everyone to have fun and get paid at the same time. I don't know if I'll have enough time to organize one for New Year's but if not then, I'm really liking the idea for a glow in the dark party!
